Welcome to Paridoc ("Paridoc", "the service"): the website at paridoc.net and the accessible document viewer that opens when you click a document link on a website that uses Paridoc. Paridoc is owned and operated by Pasadena Consulting Group LLC dba Electronic Filing Systems ("EFS", "we"). You can reach us at paridoc@efile.systems. By using Paridoc you agree to these Terms of Service.

Agencies that use Paridoc

Public agencies and other organizations use Paridoc under a separate written agreement with EFS. If you use Paridoc on behalf of such an organization, that agreement governs its subscription and takes precedence over these terms where the two conflict. These terms apply to everyone else who visits paridoc.net or reads a document in the Paridoc viewer.

Who may use Paridoc

Anyone may read documents in the Paridoc viewer and visit paridoc.net, provided they are not barred from receiving services in California, the United States, or the jurisdiction from which they use Paridoc.

Accessible versions and the original documents

Paridoc creates accessible versions of documents that agencies publish on their own websites. These versions, and the summaries and translations offered in the viewer, are produced largely by automated means and may contain errors. The original document published by the agency is the official version. Where an accessible version, summary or translation differs from the original, the original controls. The original is available from the viewer at all times. Please report errors to the agency that published the document or to us.

The documents belong to the agencies that publish them. EFS does not author, endorse or take responsibility for their content.

Translation

If you choose to translate a document in the viewer, the translation is provided by Google Translate, and the document's text is sent to Google for that purpose. Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to that service. If you don't choose a language, nothing is sent to Google.

Privacy

How Paridoc handles information is described on our privacy page, which is part of these terms.

Availability

Paridoc may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or because of events outside our control, such as cloud provider outages or natural disasters. When the service can't be reached, document links on agency websites open the agency's original documents. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of Paridoc, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice, and we are not liable to you or any third party for doing so.

Security

EFS has taken steps to safeguard the integrity of the infrastructure behind Paridoc, including monitoring, auditing and encryption. This does not warrant that the security of any information is fail-proof. All provisions and penalties of California Penal Code section 502 apply to these terms.

Your use obligations

You are responsible for your use of Paridoc, and you use it at your own risk. You may not use Paridoc, or permit others to use it, in any way contrary to these terms. In particular, you may not:

• attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of Paridoc, or to any system or network connected to it, by hacking, password mining or any other illegitimate means;
• probe, scan or test the vulnerability of Paridoc, or breach its security or authentication measures, except under a written agreement with EFS;
• take any action that places an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on Paridoc's infrastructure, including automated requests beyond what ordinary browsing or search engine indexing would produce;
• use any device, software or routine to interfere with the proper working of Paridoc or with anyone else's use of it;
• forge headers or otherwise disguise the origin of any request to Paridoc;
• upload or transmit anything that contains a virus, worm or other harmful component;
• use Paridoc to collect information about other users or visitors;
• decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, create derivative works from or sublicense any proprietary software deployed in connection with Paridoc;
• impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with EFS, an agency or any government official or employee; or
• use Paridoc for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms.

Search engines may index paridoc.net as permitted by its robots.txt file.

Intellectual property

The design, computer code, graphics, text and other materials of paridoc.net and the Paridoc viewer are protected by the copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights of EFS. The documents displayed in the viewer belong to the agencies that publish them or to third parties, and may be protected by their rights. Other product and company names mentioned on paridoc.net may be trademarks of their respective owners; mentioning them does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them. You do not acquire ownership of any content viewed or obtained through Paridoc.

No warranty

PARIDOC IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, IMPLIED, EXPRESSED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS, TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND FREEDOM FROM COMPUTER VIRUS, IS GIVEN WITH RESPECT TO PARIDOC, THE ACCESSIBLE VERSIONS, SUMMARIES OR TRANSLATIONS IT PROVIDES, OR ITS LINKS TO OTHER INTERNET RESOURCES. REFERENCE TO ANY SPECIFIC COMMERCIAL PRODUCT, PROCESS OR SERVICE, OR THE USE OF ANY TRADE, FIRM OR CORPORATION NAME, IS FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND DOES NOT CONSTITUTE ENDORSEMENT.

Limitation of liability

EFS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES (EVEN IF EFS HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES), RESULTING FROM THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE PARIDOC, OR FROM RELIANCE ON THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY OR TIMELINESS OF ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH IT. Anyone who relies on information obtained through Paridoc does so at their own risk.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless EFS, its affiliates, and their respective officers, employees and agents from and against any claims, actions, suits or proceedings, and any losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees), arising out of or related to (a) your violation of these terms, or (b) any misrepresentation made by you in connection with your use of Paridoc. Indemnification by a federal, state or local governmental unit is only to the extent allowed by law.

Links to other websites

Paridoc links to other websites, including the agency websites whose documents it displays. When you follow a link to another website, you are subject to that website's policies. EFS does not control, sponsor or endorse those websites and takes no responsibility for their content.

Miscellaneous

These terms shall be treated as though executed and performed in Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California, and are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. All legal proceedings arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be brought solely in Los Angeles County, California, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of those courts. The language of these terms shall be interpreted according to its fair meaning and not strictly for or against either party. If any part of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that part shall be construed consistent with applicable law and the remaining parts remain in full force and effect. EFS's delay or failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision or of the right to enforce it. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continued use of Paridoc after a change means you accept the updated terms.
