Paridoc does what DocAccess does: one script tag on your site, and every PDF link opens an accessible HTML version. It costs $0.30 to $0.45 per page per year, and it doesn't turn your residents' browsers into a crawler.
The same approach
DocAccess and Paridoc both work from the same idea: rather than tagging every PDF by hand, give every document an accessible HTML version and send people to it. Both install as a single script tag. Both leave your original PDFs where they are. Both handle new documents automatically, so your site doesn't fall behind again the week after you finish.

What the price difference looks like
A small district with about 1,000 pages of PDFs paid DocAccess $600 a year, according to its published agreement. Paridoc would be $300 to $450. A community services district with about 5,000 pages paid $3,600 a year; Paridoc would be $1,500 to $2,250. The gap grows with the size of your site.

Your residents' reading stays theirs
DocAccess's script reports the documents each visitor's browser comes across, together with the page they were on. That's how it builds its list of your documents. It's clever, but it means the vendor learns which pages of your site a resident browsed and which documents they opened.
Paridoc doesn't collect that. Our crawler finds your documents. When a page loads, the script asks about the documents linked on it and sends nothing about who is looking. We keep no record of which documents anyone opened. Read more on the privacy page.
Where DocAccess is ahead
DocAccess has been on the market longer. It connects directly to more agenda and document systems (CivicClerk, PrimeGov, Laserfiche and others), and it comes bundled with other CivicPlus products, which is convenient if you already buy from CivicPlus. Some DocAccess plans include indemnification against accessibility claims. If those things matter most to you, weigh them.

Switching
Replace the DocAccess script tag with Paridoc's. We crawl your site, convert your documents, and your links start opening Paridoc's accessible versions. Your PDFs stay where they are, so nothing on your site needs to be re-linked.

Is Paridoc a drop-in replacement for DocAccess?
For the core job, yes: both products add one script tag to your site and open an accessible HTML version when someone clicks a PDF link. Switching means replacing their script tag with ours. Your PDFs don't move.
How much cheaper is Paridoc?
Paridoc is $0.30 to $0.45 per page per year. Contracts public agencies have published show DocAccess at roughly $0.60 to $0.75 per page per year. For 5,000 pages that's $1,500 to $2,250 a year with Paridoc.
Who owns DocAccess now?
DocAccess was built by Streamline, a Sacramento government software company. CivicPlus acquired Streamline in December 2025, and DocAccess is now sold standalone and alongside other CivicPlus products.
Does Paridoc use residents' browsers to find documents?
No. Paridoc finds your documents with its own crawler, working for you under contract. Residents' browsers never report what they see.
